Bottomless CL Day!
Sick deals back to back all day long.
but this is one of the meanest places in the world and there's just no time or place to stop and build a fire, so I'll just brush off the maggots and chew the ass out of this rotten jackal carcass, then move on. I'm Bear Grylls.
> Socks.'Course you could always prostrate yourself at the Alter of The Gear Gods. Throw yourself on their mercy by purchasing the socks at 40% off @ Backcountryoutlet, then email them and tell them how disappointed you were to have missed out @ CL on the very same day. You waited and waited faithfully. You've stood vigilantly, awaiting any sign from The Gear Gods. Am I not worthy? Why hast thou forsaken me, Great Gods of Gear?! They might show pity and do you a "one-time" favor. We are talking about the best CS in da biz- bar none. I was in the same situation over a pair of Smith V-ti's. After like the third or fourth time I failed to pull the trigger on 'em @ SAC I said screw it, paid like $110 for the shades at the Outlet (that's 40% off). This was the same day they were on SAC for like $53. Then I felt the remorse set in. I began to tremble, but I asked them. I figured what could it hurt to ask, right? They matched the SAC price ($53 for $180 shades-shweet!) and free shipping to boot! Woot woot, to boot! They said, Next time drool when we ring the bell, dog! And so I pass their message unto ye, my brethren, for the Gear Gods are Great and Terrible in their Wisdom and Might.
Anyway... if you spend $50 bucks over there, you get free shipping and the socks are almost as good a deal @ BCoutlet. I'm Bear Grylls.
>Bar Tape. I like the Celeste. I don't have a Bianchi, and I couldn't put Celeste tape on my bike- ew! 'Dunno, just like it, though. Without having any idea what your bike looks like (you said red, black & white), this is just a hunch, but white tape might look cool. Just sayin', 'cause lots of folks seem to think white tape's the bees knees.
Blue? Really? We can't get a black, or a gray? Blue won't match my red, black, and white bike. Pity.
>I was wondering the same thing. If you search the item @ sacattack deal tracker, then show History, you'll see that Accelerade's been up 10 times in about the last year or so, May thru August '07. (Search item, then show History.) In the past they've sold the 56 for $19.25, and the 28 for @ 11.60. The Gear God's will definitely throw you a curve every once in a while- whatch out for the change-up! I'm guessing this was an honest mistake, but they might be checking to see if you're paying attention. Which you were. There have occasionally been items on the block @ SAC for a negative discount- it'll literally say, "-x% off of $x MSRP", meaning, that's right, for a limited time only you can purchase this for more than you would pay anywhere else, but hurry!" I've kinda gotten the impression that it's all in good humor- tongue in cheek?- but it would def. be a dissapointment to pay the same for 28 as 56 size. It looked to me that no one bought the 28. I hope not (sorry CL). I bought 2 of the 56ers, with $8.74 shipping that's still 50% off full retail. That'll work. I always like to calculate what I'm saving after the (reasonable) shipping (no complaints here!). Shipping can cut into your savings on less expensive giblets (like Bar Tape), of course. I'll just hope the Accelerade doesn't have an expiration date in like 2 weeks, know what I mean? The image on The Deal page showed an expiration date of 11/09 ( I looked close). Hope that's right, but who am I kidding- it's not like expiration dates have ever stood in my way before!
>Those were some fuggly-ass socks (except maybe the Pedro's ones), JMO- no offense. The sizing on those puzzles me: size 5-9, OR 9-13?! I'm an 11.5, and skeptical. Those must be some versatile socks. Size L ( 9.5-11) Smartwool fit me great. I like the deals on socks @ STP. My toesies insist on Smartwool Merino. They're pricier, yes, but you can OFTEN get 'em for >60% off if you follow their persistent sales, and sign up for their email DealFlyer Discount codes. Plus, I know you were looking for socks for touring, and socks aren't a good place to skimp, IMO. REI-Outlet's another place to look. They have some REALLY fuggly socks (JK!) for 50% off + an extra 20% off outlet prices (on 1 item) thru 6/12. This probably doesn't help. Lots of us know how it feels to wait and wait for those giblets, only to miss out the moment you turn your back. There'll be more, though- always are.
I'd waited for the sock guy socks to come on for 3 days and I leave my computer for a few hours and I miss them. What luck.
was this a mistake?
so do you only have to remove the wheels to get your bike to fit in this bag?
anybody tried this one before?
great stuff. the taste takes a little getting used to but it's much more effective than Gatorade.
Good for prehydration and recovery. I prefer their energy gels above most others.
