If anyone is looking for a great road shoe in a size 45, let me know. Loved them otherwise...."

I too would recommend Time pedals. I use the RXS carbons (road pedals). At 5 degrees, the road pedals have minimal float compared to Speedplays, but you will never pull out of them. So if you got iffy knees, others are right- go with the Speedplays. And I have worn out the cleats, and they are kinda expensive but it takes them many years to wear down.
These don't look very long. Anyone have experience with them. The picture makes them look like they don't even go below the knees. What about waist sizes?
If you are interested in nice pedals, I strongly recommend TIME's. I actually run the ATAC mountain pedals on all my bikes (3 MTB, 1 road) so I can switch between all my shoes/bikes. I really like them also because I can walk in my nice shoes (SIDI's) without being afraid of falling too much! Plus, the cleats don't wear out. My girlfriend and brother both run the time road pedals and love those too though so I recommend them as well. The cleats seem to be kinda pricy though, around 30. They have great float and are super solid; you won't pop out and destroy yourself in that club sprint.

you didn't get the memo? today is miniature jersey day.
Let's all buy Jerseys for our little brothers and sons
I've never had any experience with speed play, but I was in your situation about a year ago and decided to go with the Look Keo Sprint pedals... It took a while to get used to only being able to click in on one side of the pedals, but after a little it's not a problem, even though i'm still the last one to click in after a traffic light on club rides... They are really solid pedals that I won't feel like i will need to upgrade ever. A recent bicycling mag article had a list of things to splurge on and things to save on, and pedals were the save on... most pedals by the big manufacturers are all solid, and its just a personal preference, and how light you really want to go. The only thing to note with road pedals is that the cleat will wear out over the course of about a year and needs to be replaced (~10 bucks). Hope this helps
What are some things to look for? My old bike has the lowest SPD Pedals on it.
Speedplay makes a good road pedal, with adjustable float that's good for questionable knees. Anything modern is a good choice, Speedplay, Look, SPD, it's mostly personal preference.
I need to get new pedals for my new road bike, anyone have any recommendations?
who in god's name decided to make black jerseys ... yes, they look great, but they're like wearing a soloar panel
I went over to BC as Katriona suggested and had a live chat with someone called JJ about the ridiculous international freight charges but he insisted that they only use UPS Worldwide Expedited because they are safer and quicker.
Left, I got the Kinetic Rock and Roll Pro Bike Trainer - it was the greatest discounted of course, and I found a 20% off coupon that I got a bit ago for ordering an out of stock item. So it stacked upon that.
And yeah, I got the boxes piling up issue.
I'm glad the weather finally broke, 'cause the heat was ick. I got out for a bike ride this evening
