Bottomless CL Day!
Sick deals back to back all day long.
Katriona,
Jeez, I didn' realize about the revival, I feel kinda squizzy. Nevermind, ok? No offense! I really like the s/s Hopper 190wt, so I'm probably just gonna get the last two colors I don't have, to make the complete set (that way I won't have to do laundry for another couple weeks). Bitin' my lip scorin' less'n 40% on Icebreaker anyway, but I want those specific colors. I'm getting some Patagonia Light and Variable boardshorts, cause I was thinkin' this weekend I need new ones (I live on the coast) and grabbing a Patagonia Lightweight Travel Pack, they don't get any cheaper. Someone else snagged the Patagonia SLC, I wanted that. Ditto the Arc Squamish, but hey. I was gonna get a Squamish at the Super-Clearance. It would've come to @$70 with my paltry dividend (I never shop there- much), but I shy'd away from that "Limonade" color. And probably just as well. (Mo money, mo money!) Inside track is that the real score over at the sample store is probably the superfine 190wt Men's Atlantis and Woman's Endeavour Hoodies. They're eagerly anticipated in the Fast & Light Community, and they'll never see the clearance rack, but I'm flush with merino, with hoodies, and with softshells, in all imaginable configurations of merino/ softshell/ hoody (no, literally!), and I don't realistically see a spot for (yet another) merino-hoody-softshell, much as I'm tempted.
hiji,
It hasn't even shipped yet. I've taken a vow of not-buying anything 'cause I looked at my credit card bills last night and went eek. I'm actually pretty full up on icebreaker - altrec had some good deals last week that I passed on.
I do pretty well with stuff from thegearrevival - much like the site you mentioned, they do samples, they put stuff on ebay, and storl who runs goingprepared.com works for them.
I've decided to limit my wool buying to ibex from now on. I prefer it to my icebreaker & smartwool.
+1 Fire Extinguishers!
I didn't buy the trainer. I'm looking forward to hearing your review. Extra 20% off, huh? Pretty sly :) I went right to the wire on that one, but in the end the deciding factor for me was that I'm living in a second floor condo at the moment, and I anticipate I'll be moving at some point in the next year or so. I'm a little apprehensive about disturbing the neighbors downstairs. I would assume vibration/ noise wouldn't be a significant issue, but they are kinda creaky floors, not to mention the neighbors. They're nice enough people, don't get me wrong, but they're not shy about knocking on the door and asking, "Hey, are you building something up there? Got a project going? Just wondering. We couldn't help but notice some kind of noise..." Swear to God, last Fall we had a minor earthquake in town, which is pretty bizarre hereabouts. It was on the news. Some lady across town called the Fire Dept., reporting that she thought a plane must've crashed into her house and exploded. Turns out it was an earthquake- 1.7 or something, but I felt it loud and clear here, too. Like a weird and very loud thunderclap in the middle of a blue-sky afternoon, it sounded to me like it came from above rather than below. I was like "...Wha?What the...?" Somebody called me up and said "turn on the news, we had an earthquake!" Anyway, the next day I ran into the downstairs neighbor, and he said, "I have a bone to pick with you. Were you doing some construction upstairs yesterday?" I was like, "Wha...?Ohhh... we had an earthquake! Yeah, didn't you see it on the news?" He just gave me this smug look and seemed skeptical, and that made me kinda self-conscious, like maybe he thought I was making up some kinda far-flung excuse... for a fricken' earthquake! Now whenever I see him I wonder if he ever bothered to look into it and realized it really was an earthquake and then maybe he felt stupid, or if he assumes to this day that I'm some kind of obnoxiously inconsiderate neighbor with an excuse for everything and a vivid imagination. Oh well. The other thing is I'm thinking about maybe doing a thru-hike in-between, and I'm afraid a trainer'd end up one more thing I'd have to find storage for in the meantime. So, it's more a timing thing than anything else, really. It'd be different if I had a basement. You know I liked that deal though, because I like NICE stuff, and there's nothing like getting top quality, rock-bottom, but I don't have to tell you that, Kat!
Hey, you probably don't remember that site I mentioned about a week ago re: merino? I don't want say which one and cause a stampede because I'm still cleaning up over there. New stuff's in and there's a real nice selection of Icebreaker's entire S'08 line, sales rep samples, Woman's size S only @ 35-40%, also large selection of Chaco's, Woman's size 7 only. I know that's not a big discount, but this is nice stuff, if you know anyone. They have wool underthingies! Just sayin'!
CONGRATULATIONS BOSTON CELTICS! 2008 NBA WORLD CHAMPIONS! MISSION 17 COMPLETE! THANK YOU FOR THIS SEASON FOR THE AGES!
Yo Eddie...
You around? I got that Castelli sweater, and sure enough, it doesn't fit. It's way too big for me. The sizing chart was f'ing stupid, and I am even familiar with how Castelli stuff is SUPPOSED to fit.
If you're interested, gimme a shout... I'll check tonight and tomorrow morning on the list here..
But the dang sweater is huge. Argh. I'm a little pissy about it.
HIgher discount?
Not on the same day
Sometimes, at a later date it'll show up at a higher discount.
But sometimes, it'll show up at a lower discount.
if a item is taken away before it sells out is it ever put back up with a higher discount?
hijo/left, what'd you decide on tha trainer?
You should really join over on forums.goingprepared.com if you haven't already given the celtics comment :)
and while I've never tried to use windshield wiper fluid to put out a fire, I once started a fire in a hood, pulled it out and threw it into the burn box, which made sense except everyone squirts isopropyl alcohol into the burn box....
They installed fire extinguishers in the lab after that incident.
Looks like Kat beat me to the punch on this, but I guess it bears repeating, anyway. These are just personal observations, and are not in any way intended to represent the policies of Chainlove.com, or of Backcountry.com and its affiliates.
>Take up to three (total) of any one item, any combination of options available (color, size, etc.)
>Items in your cart are not reserved. They're not yours until you buy by clicking "Submit My Order" and receive an Order Confirmation. If the item sells thru before you submit your order, it will disappear from your cart.
>If you're logged into your account with saved CC info (recommended), and the item(s) you've put in your cart do not sell thru, the item(s) MAY remain available in your cart for some (unspecified) ammount of time. It's best not to tempt fate. If you have to have it, and you can't bear to lose out- buy it now. Also, item(s) typically don't remain available in your cart beyond the 12:00am 'reset', regardless of whether or not they have sold thru.
>Saved CC info also improves your chances at buying popular items which may otherwise sell thru faster than you can enter your account and/or billing info.
>One item at a time, until it's gone. Sometimes that means until it sells thru, sometimes it doesn't. CL will switch the item at their discretion, in either case. If the item does not sell thru, it'll very likely be up again at some point, and again, at CL's discretion.
>It may be best to view this as a 24hr rotation. If an item does not sell thru on any given appearance, you'll typically see it appear again in the rotation that same day, unless and until it does sell thru. If an item does not sell thru in any 24hr period (12am-11:59pm), you'll probably see it make an appearance again in some other 24hr rotation. That may be two days later, that may be next week, or next month, or six months later- you guessed it- at CL's discretion.
>Any ammount of total inventory on hand at backcountry.com or backcountryoutlet.com may be designated for discount sale at CL at any given time, at CL's discretion. Remaining inventory in stock may or may not appear for sale at CL at some point, at CL's discretion.
>Track Item History at Chain.gearattack.com.
>40% minimum discount on any item(s) in stock at backcountryoutlet.com when you click thru sacattack.com >> "buy it at a discount" link. Free shipping on all orders of $50 or more.
>Ask Kat.
+1 "It saves me money if it sells out."
GO CELTICS! KG! KG! KG! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH, LA!
Ok, thanks for the tip. I was experimenting with that idea one day. Had an item in my cart and watched as the stock went lower and lower (Haha! Just like my employer, but anyway...). Eventually it stopped with two remaining for the longest time which I thought was odd given how quickly it went at first. So I thought maybe my cart had something to do with that and I emptied it. Alas, it still remained at two for some time before finally disappearing. Anyway, I may try your technique for items I'm willing to take a chance on not getting.
Combined shipping works if the item you want doesn't sell out. Generally throughout the day if I see something that I think is interesting, I'll stick it in my cart. I keep adding to the cart when things come up that I might want and when something comes up that I definitely want , I check out - anything that has sold out throughout the day will be removed, but if things haven't sold out, the site will combine shipping for however many items and let you buy them.
And since the women's stuff on here doesn't really sell out, it works for me.
I know some of you MTB types recoil at the sight of Roadie Lycra, and I understand, but some of these MTB shorts and stuff are just FUGLY.
Sorry, I stepped away from the computroller- that jersey was just gettin' to be too much. Way.
Yes- by CC I meant Coloradocyclist, sorry for the confusion. I want to be clear on this, though- I have no personal experience with Castelli sizing, as others here do. I can say that my experience has been that the size charts at Coloradocyclist seem to be pretty accurate, when I compare them to similar items I've purchased elsewhere (at greater discount!). I'm thinking specifically of my penchant for Etxe Ondo stuff, but hey- that's my problem, not yours!
hijo
hi
i bought these off of here but decided that i need to pass. If anyone wants them shoot me a mesg, otherwise they go back to chainlove. Im only asking for cost, no profit, karma ect
Because the products are not all located in the same place, or what? As far as I can see that would be the only reason preventing it. If someone can put one item in a box then surely they can put a second assuming they have it on-hand.
Ooops - sorry 'bout that previous post. "Post Message" should *not* be the default action.
Anyway, perhaps CC is ColoradoCyclist? And I was the one who posted that link... DOH!
unfortunately that is not going to happen. logistically it is just not something can happen in the foreseeable future for any of the one deal at a time sites.
I'd buy one if we could combine shipping for multiple items per day. (Hint-hint!)
