Bottomless CL Day!
Sick deals back to back all day long.
Dobson, I am not sure about the bike you listed but have heard from many who are very satisfied with there Jamis bikes. I even meet a few racers that swear the Xenith SL is the best road pace bike on earth. If anyone else has experience with the Jamis Xenith I would like to know, I have my eye on the Pro model for next year.
It has not be ridden. Any reason not to get this for $1349.00? It says the original price was $2849.99. Anything in a current model around the same price that would be a better deal? Thanks for any advice you can provide.
By the way I am currently riding a 58cm Trek 370 (mid-90's?) that I got for free from a friend . I am 6'3 1/2" and currently weigh about 270lbs, so the current bike is a little small.
at least you didn't have 5 sets of Cutter bike tubes show up at your door unexpectedly.
I tried to buy the set of 4 tubes (which are familiar to anyone who has been here more than a week) but the "you missed out" screen came up but the they were still selling. I thought that was curious, so I went through the purchase procedure again...same result. But there were over 100 tubes left, right? Oh well, try again...and again. You see where this is going. I should say that BC took care of everything including refunding the shipping once I returned the extra tubes I didn't want.
In other words...it happens.
I hear what you guys are saying, I totally agree. I am like a die hard backcountry customer, have been for a couple years and this sure wont change anything I am sure. I knew it does happen from time to time, but I guess it would have jsut felt better if it happened to me when I was late getting my order in or something...ha
What must really suck is if this happens to a first time customer, that could kill it for all further business from that person..
I still really wanted that damn long sleeve jersey, its getting cold brrr! Go figure the short sleeve arrives today =)
I am suprised they didn't do something for you anyway, like give you a discount on another model, etc.
I've only had one problem and that was with the honey stinger gel. Don't remember if any remembers that whole quantity mixup? Anyway they ultimately made it right and I now have tons of gel that will last me a good season and then some.
Dude, it's happened to all of us at least once -- especially those of us going for high demand stuff on SAC.
Chances are that the count on the web page hadn't caught up and you lost out when they sorted out the cluster of orders that they got.
Sucks for sure, but it happens.
So after spending about $6k with backcountry in the last year, I finally have had an issue that is BS.
I ordered something here on CL last Sunday, (I am always logged in and have alerts set up) I was literally like the first to place the order for my size..I know this because after I placed my order I went back to the deal page and it showed the one I bought gone on the inventory status and like 8 more left, it took about 15 mins to sell through.
Well after it not shipping, I called in to check status a few times and no one I talked to could tell me anything other then it is taking longer to ship because they couldnt find that batch of products in the warehouse, they assured me it would ship, but just a couple days late.
Now today I get an email saying that the item sold out before I placed my order, this is BS because I watched myself order one of the first ones on the site. I call in and they tell me the same thing, that they sold out before I placed my order. So I guess my problem is not that they didnt ship it out, its just that instead of saying we had an inventory mess up, they tell me I didnt order in time...
Anyone who camps out on SAC and CL and buys all the time knows when you miss out on a deal, and you also know when you are one of the first to score something..of course when I score something that I actually realy need, BC messes up and I get screwed out of something I bought in plenty of time.
Ehh..still love BC, just thing this is lame...I have heard of it happeining to others before too, I guess I just need to vent because I was disappointed. Sorry for the novel haha
I too have been shopping for a trainer. I don't expect to see any on CL though since on Backcountry I only see a couple rollers in stock. The Kurt Kinetic is on the top of my list though. The one on sale on REI looks like the 2007 version Rock and roll trainer with the rubber grommet movement. I don't recommend the Kurt Kinetic rock and roll trainer I used one and found the rock and roll motions a gimmick that didn't really add any value to the workout. In fact the only time I got it to move is when off the saddle sprinting so you are not going to develop symmetry with that trainer. Maybe the 2008 version is better but the 2007 is not.
Oh yeah, and fixing the freaking forum links would help.
*sigh*
Cat requires 165 mm cranks and size 37 shoes.
Is that really that hard to provide?
you can get the kurt kinetic at a discount from rei outlet - still expensive. Free shipping if you pick it up instore
Forgot to say PLEASE =).
Where are my manners?
Kurt Kinetic Road Machine (Fluid). Doesn't leak, rock solid, accurate resistance curve.
I, too, would like a bike workstand!
More bibshorts!
Thanks CL =)
There is someone out there...bike rack or trainer.
Speaking of trainers, does anyone have any suggestions for one of these? I figure it may be nice to be able to condition my sit bones while the snow falls outside.
I am starting to think 1111111 was right and it's making me sad.
