Same deal with this stem, it's 15.99 on Departmentofgoods.com (unless you want the 130mm which is 23.99). Weird.

Didn't people stop using 22.2mm handlebars in like 1992? I don't think even BMXers use these anymore.

What's with all the 22.2mm handlebars on here lately? I'm surprised that BC even picked these up. Steel bars? Really?

The MRC folding is "a bit" heavier? It weights over twice as much!

What DH cranks use 5-bolt rings?

Gots 'em, still loves 'em (though my frame was made prior to 2001, so no disc tabs back there).

Oh, it totally has a gauge! You know that your road tires are at the right pressure when the pump malfunctions!

So the description says full zip, but the picture pretty clearly shows 1/3 zip. Anyone actually know?

Oh wow, I think Sombrio just fired a hideous shot across the bow of the ugly ship Oakley!

So you've got a multi tool, tire lever, seat bag, and CO2 inflator and you're telling me the MSRP for these things is $121? Ridiculous. $50 is high for this lot.

Phew, someone bought the last L. I'm safe for now.

So tempted...so very tempted. If only I didn't already own a MTB that I absolutely love and that's 5lbs lighter than this thing. Still tempted. I guess after all the shit I've talked about full sus if I abondoned my hardtail I'd seem like kind of a hypocrite.

This is actually the vest I got. I'm pretty happy with it.

Alan,
Check your measurements; a women's large may fit you. I have ordered a couple of women's things off here (vest and jerseys) and love them. The styling's not so different and they're usually stretchy enough (and designed for thin enough women) that they work with thin guys just fine.

Nic,
Your ideal solution is completely counter to CL's business model. The purpose of CL is to offer great bargains for a limited time. If you can just add it to your cart and check out later, then the time's not exactly limited. What they're depending on is impulse buys. The ability to ponder it for hours eliminates that and without it CL can't exist.
Forkboy,
42lbs for a BB and disc brakes? I knew you DH/FR people were into burly stuff, but that's just ridiculous! ;)
To all complaining about the shipping: go see if you can better deal at your LBS where you won't have to pay shipping. That's the price of shopping at home.

BigSAC,
Yeah, Specialized road stuff is absurdly expensive, though it's fairly comparable to the Madone 6.9 and the Cannondale SuperSix. Once you get to bikes used in the ProTour it's just silly.
And while the MTB S-works stuff is also ridiculous, they make some very nice mid-high range stuff that's eminently raceable and not too expensive.

Is it just me, of does the "butt mannequin" they use for the Hincapie shorts have a huge butt and little spindly legs?
Friday, November 14 2008, 02:02 PM
Where are all the guys that were clamoring for DH/FR stuff? They seem pretty quiet considering CL just posted the quintessential DH/FR stem...

Wow, this is a surprisingly not ugly jersey from Oakley!
