Bottomless CL Day!
Sick deals back to back all day long.
So you've got a multi tool, tire lever, seat bag, and CO2 inflator and you're telling me the MSRP for these things is $121? Ridiculous. $50 is high for this lot.
$120 for these? Dang. That's $25 less than what I bought them for on here about a month ago. I'm not complaining, though. $145 was still a great price, and I'm loving my bike with the road setup now.
But shoot. $120. Dang.
$7.34 to ship bar tape that's $8.96... no thanks. Too bad I'm only a couple miles away and there is no local pickup.
Guess I need to buy more than one for this to be an actual deal.
please ignore this lame post :-/
But other than that, I think I am all stocked up for next year :)
Just got my King water bottle cages today..
I like Pedro's tools. I got that MTK2.1 upgrade kit... the star-nut setter is the best! So much easier to line up the starnut than the park one... and the DH tire lever is great for convincing recalcitrant road tires that they really do want to go on the wheel. :)
I guess that explains why there was no Castelli on today. lol (well earlier today there was as I got sock)
Well no all mountain day can be complete without seeing more Sombrio gear :)
So how bouts some chick Sombrio stuff please.
...lusting for pedals I am...
Crank Bros Candy SLs and/or Eggbeater SLs
please
have em on all my bikes -- need for new build(s)
these are quality pedals w healthy float & good bad weather behavior -- they laugh at mud and even though the cleats tend to wear somewhat more quickly than some others, the pedals overall trouble quotient is delightfully low.
and if they hit the offering while I pixel gaze, I score.
thanks!
Hey guys this is going to be an all mountain day. There will be dirt jump bikes, frames, freeride gear, mountain components, etc. If you guys have any requests you can post them to the forum or send me an email gbaron@backcountry.com and I'll see what I can do.
Now we're talking.. almost 700 lumens too!
the different colors are all the same tire.
in my opinion they are "meh" tires. i wouldn't pay full price for them, but for 10 bucks a piece they aren't so bad. i had one tire where the sidewall started to warp, and i was only using 100psi (the tires are max 115 i think). but i wasn't too worried because it was only a 10 dollar tire, and i was able to use the third of the max 3 you can buy here.
*shrug*
This is my one and only gripe with chainlove /sac etc. Love everything about them but if you could combine items to ship together I would be ready to propose marriage.
Let me tack on a ridiculously stupid question about the Hutchinson Equinox tire... Is there any difference between the colors (apart from the fact that red is faster obv)? I know some manufacturers differentiate tires by color so was just wondering. I'm sure the page would mention that if there was, but occasionally CL's item descriptions are lacking certain info... Thanks.
Isn't today "stocking stuffer day"?
Do people really get/give $200 lights in their stocking.
I fill my daughter's stocking with lip-gloss, little dolls, maybe some crayons, etc.
I bet every road warrior on CL has picked up a set of these Equinox tires.
I think they have been maybe one of the best buy I had on CL.
:-) I hear ya... just continue to charge the handling expense and ship in one package.
Hypotehetically, the profit margin could be greater with combined shipping because
1) Increase handling revenue while reducing shipping costs.
2) Make more people buy more stuff they don't need.
I don't know how many time I have let something pass because it was $10 with $8 shipping.
Soooo, when buying tires...should the limit change to 4? maybe I want 2 sets and not 3 + 1, for the double ding on shipping.
Unless, of course, I am buying for my sweet trike with 700 x 23 wheels
Even assuming it's how Chief says, nothing prevents maintaining the same profit margin by combining shipping. Just pick the right price and pass the cost savings to us. Shipping two or more separate packages mostly benefits UPS.
I'd be willing to buy more smaller items if I can get a cut on shipping costs.
Actually, thinking about it... Please DO NOT COMBINE SHIPPING. I really need to stop buying stuff I don't need!
On a separate note, I missed the socks again! Darn!
Please bring them back one more time!
I bought a set of cutter tubes from CL many many months ago. I've never gotten a flat since and haven't used a single one of them.
lol.. cutter tubes!
I think that Cutter is the backcountry.com brand of bike accessories and is a reference to that late 70's cult American Cycling film "Breaking Away" were the cycling team jersey was the word "Cutters" written on white undershirt. I have many of times tried to draft off a semi and then slingshot around it because of that movie; but it has never worked for me.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breaking_Away
That "Cutter" is a horrible name for a bicycle tube?
Right now I am running "Detonator" tires on my bike. Doesn't exactly instill confidence.
