The Monster Fat is hanging from the rafters in the garage, BTW. It's got a small dent in the headtube from the time (years ago) I rode straight into a trailhead gate in the dark and flew about thirty feet over the bars almost completely unscathed- blind luck, I guess. Any way, great classic frame- it's the Yo Eddy but with wishbone stays... just needs a little TLC! JK! Don't do drugs! Ooh... Shimmy shiftys...

That's just sad. These folks bring us these great deals, and it ends up on eBay. I'm sure it's not the first time, nor the last, but...bygones.

When I think of Eddy Van Halen's Frankenstrat it brings me back to my high school geometry class. I didn't know Eddy called it the Frankenstrat- I wasn't that big of a VH fan. I did have a Fat City Cycles Monster Fat with a hand-painted Frankenstein head on the headtube, but I digress. I was a Sophomore on the varsity football team, and I sat directly behind "Pame", a Junior cheerleader who was absolutely nuts for Van Halen! She was a bad girl! Her boyfriend at the time also played football, and he used to brag all the time in the locker room about their exploits. He was pretty crass, but honestly, she was about the least attractive cheerleader on the squad, so whatever... Stop me if you know how this one ends. When I picture her in my mind I see her in a VH concert t-shirt going on and on about the concert last night at the Centrum. I haven't memorized my theorems, and there's a quiz. Pame later became a High School Teacher, married an insurance salesman and the next time I saw her, she was a big TV Star. She played the Evil Mastermind Villainess in this top-rated televised murder trial reality show. Last I heard she was doing Life-Without-The-Possibility-of-Parole for Conspiracy, Murder in the First Degree, et al. High School! VH rocked! Remember "Mean Street"?

Must include lyrics which specifically refer to cycling or which can reasonably be construed as related to cycling. I'll go first.

"I'm A Wheel" - Wilco
"Tony's Theme" - The Pixies

Man, those shorts were nuts. +1 to the Eddie Van Halen Frankenstrat ref.

When will we see the men's Oakley short sleeved jerseys again? Seeing lots of same-day repeats, but not this one.

Third shift is a long shift, Chainheads! ;-)

by analogbomb (83)

Thank god those shorts are gone. I've never been so happy to see a pee colored jacket before.

by hijo (491)

You know, I was just thinking it's a shame there's only one ugly-ass pair of board shorts up at a time over on SAC...
Vent your junk on those "sphincter clinching downhills"? Good luck with that. "Scraping dried blood off your leg at the bar"? Who writes this stuff? Keep a stiff upper lip and try a moisturizing aftershave- maybe something with aloe and lanolin. At least you're balls aren't all sweaty. As Turxski said, "not so much like bike shorts". Indeed. Maybe you should just skip the ride and we'll meet you at the bar afterwards- and lose the Roxy bike luggage. JK, JK, JK!

by analogbomb (83)

The red ones look like Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstrat.

Holy crap at the rate these ugly things are going it will be Friday night before something new gets put up

by yo momma (12)

Yeah, these might be here awhile!

by JustBing (42)

Only 216 out of the 293 left to go. Yaee
At this rate they'll be here till the morning.

by jacobsam (11)

The ugly shorts are back up!! Now I can hide out in the bloody chicken farm!

by berge (6)

I knew it couldn't be long before ugly Oakley showed up. You know what's next - Roxy bike luggage. Yikes!

by TurxSki (18)

It looks like there is no Liner/Chamois in these shorts. so not so much bike shorts, as just shorts...
You'd better be standing on your pedals a lot...

by TurxSki (18)

If I had lots of spare $$'s, I'd go for one of these self contained, kinda ugly, kinda nice, BR Lights

Yup, the rumors you've heard are true. You may have even seen it recently at the 24hrs of 9 Mile where our rider Sarah Kaufmann had a fantastic 4th place finish in the Womens Solo Championship! It was also used by team TOS at 24 hours of Laguna Seca lighting their way to a first place finish. This exciting new lightweight, integrated battery LED headlamp is blowing the competition away everywhere it goes!

L&M Vega is a good one too, I have several friends who have had it for more than a year and they all like it. Good compact light with several modes, I'd snag that.

Almost got into a collision last night from some punk who decided to suddenly pull over without signaling, nearly crushing me between his car and a parked one.

I think I was partially invisible due to my weak daytime-only light that I was running on my bike at the time. I think that light will stay home more often in favor of my Niterider Minewt X2 Dual...
