Yeah. Ultegra's a real nice upgrade, though. Is your's a triple?

by Cataboo (318)

I'm tempted by the ultegra shifters - I've got 105's now, but my rear cassette is a 9.... so I'd have to get a lot more parts to make the upgrade.

oooh...shimmie shifties... I predict that if you take the long-view and are so inclined, your patience will be rewarded in some considerable way. If, for example, you budget carefully, and are an educated consumer, you might put together a complete build kit, probably choice of gruppos at >50% savings, depending on the manufacturer's scheduled obsolescense of their products. Nothing to sneeze at. Shimano Ultegra's obviously being closed-out. There's the new Ultegra SL, but this is still Good Stuff, obviously. Browse BC and BC Outlet inventory. Is there anything there you want? You'll get a shot at most or maybe even all of that at some point. I've said this before: This is a highly cyclical (no pun intended) Industry. Yeah, it's uncomfortable having to wait for CL to jerk the chain and throw you a bone, but hey, they've got a much better idea than we do as to how to make this a success in the long run, and successful in this instance implies mutual satisfaction. It's a symbiotic relationship. IMO, the best thing to do is to decide ahead of time whether you want to buy Ultegra components for that project of yours, or whether you're gonna hold out and pay more for DA, or whatever. If you want wheels, plan ahead. Do you want a $500 set for $200, do you want a $1000 set for $700, or do you want a $2500 set for $1700? Each one of those sets is going to go on clearance IF they're still laying around when the '09 sets roll in. Then you wait. Just be ready to jump when that chain jerks. (Hey, do you think they're just jerking our chains?) Flipside of that is this: You can't expect to hold your breath until that specific object of your heart's desire materializes before your very eyes. This (CL) works best for impulse buys, of course, and most people will find something they like at 'The Flea Market' to use someone else's insightful analogy, but it's serendipity in the end.

You will find shimano ultegra shifters

by rcgill (11)

Yeah... I've seen every bit of that too and I've only been here about a week! Got my first purchase delivered yesterday - exactly as advertised, correct size, color, tags, the whole bit. Good stuff.

by analogbomb (83)

I don't know why I'm defending the site but I've seen cranks, stems, bars, whole bikes, brakes, helmets, tubes, tires, saddles, saddle bags, shoes, bags, and gloves.

After checking this site for about 2 weeks I've come to a conclusion. The only thing this Chainlove sells is clothes. The site sucks. When I'm thinking bike gear, the last thing I shop for is clothes. Where are all the parts; shocks, wheels, brakes, bars, frames, pedals, seats, forks, chains, etc, etc. THIS SITE SUCKS.

BREAKING NEWS:

Big toe on the right. Claraka has just disclosed the location of her tattoo @ SteepAndCheap.com. It is our understanding at this time, that her ink is specifically located on the top of the big toe on her right foot. This much anticipated announcement follows her previous revelation that the artwork is in fact a rendering of a Frog. We are monitoring this breaking news and will interrupt programming to bring you any further developements...

THIS HAS BEEN BREAKING NEWS

One thing I think you can do is to call up customer service (you can find the actual number on the backcountry.com website) and let them know that you just placed a second order and see if they can combine shipping.

Also, be careful if making more than one purchase a day. Yesterday, when making my second purchase for the day, my first purchase still remained in my cart. I had to delete it before I bought the second item.

by MountainMedic (SDgearaddict) (92)

I definitely wouldn't do that, for a couple reasons. One, the item might sell out and then you're SOL. Also, the cache/cookies/etc might clear and then your cart would be empty. In short, just buy it now. You know you want to.

Can I add things to my cart and just checkout at the end of the day so I can save on shipping

I bought this computer about a month ago. I loved it while it lasted, Then it just died. New battery didn't help. It's in the garbage can now. I'm glad I only paid $12 for it
